Ballooning Season 
The best seasons for hot air balloon flights are spring, summer and autumn. During this time the early mornings and evenings offer the most ideal conditions. Some winter ballooning is possible but this is very dependant on the weather.
Before the Flight
We meet at the launch field, where the pilot and crew will welcome you and answer any questions you may have. The balloon is spread out on the field and inflated on its side using large fans. The burners are used to heat the air inside the balloon, causing it to 'stand up'. Passengers are then welcome to climb aboard. During the inflation you may participate if you wish, or you are welcome to watch and take photos.
Your Hot Air Balloon Flight
In-flight photographs, which are aerial photographs of everyone in the basket, are taken during the flight. Copies of these can be ordered from the pilot or ground crew after the flight. After an hour or so in the air the balloon lands to be met by the ground crew who have been following by road.
 An Unbelievable Journey
Hot air balloons fly on the breeze and never follow the same route twice, making every journey a unique adventure. Countryside Balloons has been flying in Essex longer than any other balloon operator and our local knowledge is second to none.
Celebration
After the flight we celebrate in the traditional manner with Champagne, although passengers are given the option of having Buck's Fizz or orange juice instead if they prefer. During the celebration each passenger is presented with a commemorative flight certificate to mark the occasion.
 In-flight Photograph
There is also an opportunity to order a set of 2 mounted photographs, each measuring 10x8, one of which is an aerial photo taken during the flight and the other of which is a picture of the balloon used on the day. The price of these is £20.00. They are dispatched in a hard backed envelope within 10 working days.
Return to the Launch Field
 Once the celebration is complete we provide minibus transport to return passengers to the launch field. We usually advise allowing 3-4 hours for your hot air balloon experience from start to finish.
