This aerial view from a balloon flight over Marks Hall near Earls Colne Essex shows some of the remaining buildings and the large walled gardens which allude to the much larger Jacobean mansion that was sadly demolished due to disrepair in 1950. After much renovation during the 1970’s and 80’s the arboretum which is one of the largest in the country was opened to the public in 1993.
